The Women's Garden Project
FACE sponsored a local initiative 'The Women’s Garden Project' at Tooting Community Garden which offered weekly social activities for vulnerable women.
The project began in 2021 by helping women of a refugee and asylum seeker background - many of them living in a hotel room, in a ‘refugee bubble’ who found it hard to integrate into the community. So being able to access a safe, tranquil and beautiful green space every week and enjoy different activities, helped their wellbeing enormously. They were very proud share their produce and part in Tooting's Foodival.
Jointly funded by Furzedown FACE and Thinking Works in 2022. For more details contact Sharon womensgardenproject@gmail.com
