In 2011, with the help of people in Furzedown, FACE raised £5,400 to donate to two charities; Motor Neurone Disease Association and St George’s Hospital - to improve the experience of long-stay teenage cancer patients. In March we presented cheques to to St George’s hospital and to MNDA with Sadiq Khan MP and Councillor Jane Cooper the Mayor of Wandsworth, who kindly gave us tea in her chambers. We raised the money from events at The Furzedown Festival, The FACE quiz night, The Moyser Road Winter Market as well as selling raffle tickets and having a donation from Waitrose in Balham. Local schools were also very supportive with mufti days and other events: The Whitehouse School, Furzedown Primary and Graveney school.
