The Garden Gig raises over £2,000
Our fabulous Garden Gig returned in June with a top line-up of local talent and a special star - the singer, songwriter and West End performer Damian Wilson.
The rain held off and it was a fantastic evening in Alan & Julia's beautiful garden in Furzedown. Everyone enjoyed a welcome drink and a delicious two course meal (thanks to Stuart) with a choice of BBQ or Tandori chicken, or a vegetable curry, followed by a tasty range of deserts. There was also a special prize raffle:

Damian Wilson is a musician, songwriter and vocalist who has appeared on over 70 separate album releases. He was the lead in Les Misérables and he has toured all over the world, fronting bands such as Rick Wakeman’s ERE and Threshold. @damianwilsonofficial
Tony Woollard whose Mozart Requiem for cello won the 2020 Classical Music Digital Awards - Lockdown Project. His son Theo also gave a great performance on Double Bass. @TonyWoollard (Facebook)
Singer Nyla Thomas, (age 17), accompanied by Archie Chettleburgh (age 17). They are both talented students from Graveney school.
Andrew Holdsworth is a composer and producer who has worked with Primal Scream, Joe Jackson, Mary Black and Paradise Lost. He currently works at the Royal Ballet School and Royal Academy of Dance. andrewholdsworthmusic.com
Thanks to Aspire sponsorship and all the people who had promotional boards in their gardens, as well as all our helpers and everyone who came - we raised over £2000 for local causes, including South London MNDA, The Furzedown Project, local Gardening initiatives and upgrading the TYA room for young people with cancer at St Georges Hospital!
