"Lovely memories..."

Sarah Karslake, the winner of our star prize in the 2014 FACE Raffle, has written this lovely letter, along with giving a generous donation as a thank you, after coming back from her wonderful Mark Warner holiday in Rhodes this October!

2014 was a rather challenging year – we lost two very dear friends - and by October we were feeling pretty weary, so you can imagine how thrilled and surprised we were to win the First Prize of a Mark Warner holiday in the Raffle.

It took a while to find a date that we could manage, eventually settling on 26 Sept – 3 Oct 2015, but once that had been done, it couldn’t have been easier to organise, just a couple of emails and it was all sorted thanks to the lovely team at MW.

We arrived in Rhodes, after a very pleasant British Airways flight – delicious breakfast en route – to be shown to our lovely room with balcony overlooking the tennis courts and from where we played endless virtual games of tennis – we were really good by the end of the week!! We did, however, take full advantage of the swimming pools, kayaking and sailing and fitted in plenty of sunbathing and reading too. We also managed to visit the ancient City of Rhodes, the Acropolis at Lindos and had a fascinating day sailing round the beautiful island of Symi, amongst other things.

This was not a holiday we would ever have had if we hadn’t won it. It was such a wonderful break and we came back feeling completely relaxed and refreshed and with some lovely memories. So a massive thank you to the FACE team for all that you do for so many people and for giving us a really wonderful holiday.
