2019 Quiz Night - quirky & incredible!
What a fantastic event last night - thanks to everyone who came, it was great fun and helped raise money for local causes like MNDA.
Team Biscuit won the quiz again CRUMBS!
But everyone enjoyed the quirky questions that involved identifying ketchups in a taste test, cartoon super-heroes and a LIVE music round with keyboards played by the talented Andrew Holdsworth... the food was delicious too and Greggs donated 80 doughnuts, and big thanks to the pupils and staff of Graveney School who helped make everything run smoothly.
There were great prizes donated by local favourites like The Rose & Crown, Ricks Restaurant, Goldfinch, Unwined, Alan Coles, The Goldfinch Bar, Gardens By Design, Urban Wine, Harry's chocolates, Schroder of Wallington and Heyland & Whittle - and Dr Rosena Khan's prize of a tour of Parliment with tea on the terrace for four people was won by a Graveney pupil helping out on the night.
Attached are some images of the night and this morning we received an emotional email which we'd like to share, from someone helped by South London MNDA - who we've been supporting regularly:
This is a thank you rather than an enquiry. I heard about your support for MNDA South London. My husband was diagnosed last March with this horrific disease and since then our lives have been turned completely upside down.
MNDA have so far been able to offer help with voicebanking and financing works to the house. They've also offered to pay for support for me. They are a relatively small charity because the profile of the disease is not as high as other diseases such as cancer. The impact however can be even more devastating. Without support from MNDA, we would have struggled to know what to expect or where to get help. Thank you for supporting them, and by extension, us.
...thanks to furzedown!
